New Year is Udaipur's other peak. Most properties run a gala dinner on the 31st, often priced separately from the room, and the weather through late December is about as good as the city gets. Minimum-stay rules are common across the week.

- Do Udaipur hotels charge extra for New Year's Eve?
- Most do. A compulsory gala dinner on 31 December is common and is usually billed separately from the room rate, so check what a quoted price does and does not include before booking.
- Is there a minimum stay over New Year in Udaipur?
- Frequently, yes. Two or three nights across 30 December to 1 January is typical at the larger properties. Smaller hotels are more flexible but fill earlier.
- How far ahead should I book for New Year?
- Two months or more. Along with Diwali it is the most contested week of the year, and the properties with the best New Year's Eve events are the first to go.
